1 c
Peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
1/3 c Honey
1/4 c Carob powder |
1 c
Raisins
1 1/2 c Granola |
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the
peanut butter and honey, mixing with a wooden spoon. Mix in the carob powder, then fold in
the raisins and granola. It will make a fairly stiff dough. Take handfuls of the dough and
roll each on waxed paper into the shape of fat cigars (about 8). Place the cigars in the
freezer.
When they are hard but not yet frozen solid, slice the cigars into nickel-sized pieces. If
the cigars should get frozen, simply leave them at room temperature for a few minutes
until they are thawed enough to slice.
Great for lunch boxes and after-school snacks.
"These treats were tasty but my preference would be non-instant milk powder in
place of carob powder and a handful or so of carob chips. To save time you could simply
make balls instead of slicing cigars."
