Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salted roasted shelled pumpkin seeds
- 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds, optional
- Toast or apple slices, for serving
Method
Step 1
Pulse the pumpkin and sunflower seeds in a food processor until finely ground but still dry, about 30 seconds. Add the honey and chia seeds if using and process to incorporate. With the machine running, stream in 1 tablespoon of water at a time, allowing it to incorporate thoroughly after each addition, until the mixture resembles a thick paste much like peanut butter; add about 2 tablespoons of water total if not including the chia, 3 tablespoons if including the chia. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and continue to process until the desired texture is reached.
Step 2
Store in an airtight container. Serve on toast or with apple slices.
